Mikrocop is a medium-sized Slovenian company specializing in the development of advanced IT solutions. As the complexity of our products and infrastructure grows, we are expanding our team and inviting a Lead Systems Engineer to design and lead the architecture of the company’s entire IT system and ensure the smooth operation of IT services in our private cloud.

As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will …
- Design and prepare the overall architecture of the company's IT system.
- Plan, implement, and manage a private cloud to support key business and development processes.
- Technically lead projects related to infrastructure, virtualization, high availability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to integrate system solutions into production environments.
- Optimize existing systems and introduce best practices in automation and management.
- Troubleshoot complex incidents and develop long-term plans to ensure infrastructure stability and growth.
- Prepare technical documentation and define standards for internal infrastructure architecture.
We expect …
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server platforms (AD, GPO, security mechanisms, server services).
- Experience with VMware virtualization solutions (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter), including configuration and optimization.
- Knowledge of container environments, especially Docker Swarm, and understanding of containerization and orchestration principles.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (management, configuration, optimization, HA/DR).
- Practical experience with search and analytics systems such as Elasticsearch.
- At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering; candidates with experience in complex system architecture are preferred.
- Understanding of network technologies, protocols, and concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, firewalls, load balancing).
- Good understanding of security practices, backup/restore strategies, and HA/DR concepts.
- Independence, responsibility, analytical skills, and the ability to technically lead projects.
- Excellent understanding of technical terminology in Slovenian and English.
