Great Interest in the Archive Open Day
In the last week of August, we spiced up the summer holidays with a live event - the Archive Open Day, which was fully booked. Many organizations still store their documents in physical form, facing challenges that we addressed during the event.
The event, led by Miha Čebron, the Product Manager for Physical Storage, was divided into two parts. First, we presented some theory to the participants and demonstrated the challenges we encounter in the field with our clients. We introduced the standards that those who archive documents themselves should follow to ensure the safe and efficient storage of paper documentation. Participants also learned about the advantages and benefits of archiving physical documents with a certified provider, where the documentation is stored with the highest level of security.
The event was intended for those who are just starting to establish an archive, as well as for those who have had one for many years but still face challenges. Lastly, it was also for those considering outsourcing physical storage to external experts like Mikrocop. Miha Čebron discussed the issues participants face and shared his extensive practical experience.
In the second part of the event, we took the guests on a tour of our archive, where they could see how to manage an archive from both a security and usability perspective. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about our digital solution for managing physical materials - the Archive Book.
Although we have been handling physical documentation for years, common challenges still arise: unsuitable spaces, lack of space, time wasted searching for documents, loss of documents, inadequate storage conditions, lack of expertise, unauthorized access, and lack of traceability. Therefore, archiving must be approached thoughtfully, always with an eye on efficiency and compliance.
