The University of Maribor's honorary diploma for Mikrocop
The University of Maribor marked University Day and the 49th anniversary of its founding with a ceremony, during which awards for the most outstanding achievements of the past year were also presented.
In the field of collaboration with the economy, based on the proposal of the Senate of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Kranj, an honorary diploma was also awarded to the company Mikrocop. The diploma was accepted by the director, Simona Kogovšek, and we received it for successful collaboration in the following areas:
- Guest lecturers in the field of HR – Alenka Fic Mikolič, Aleksandra Kocjan, Tamara Kušar
- Guest lecturers in the field of digitalization: Anton Gazvoda and Ivo Vasev
- Preparation of a case study for an international and national competition for high school and university students: Ivo Vasev, Nataša Centa, Karmen Jakob Logar.
The title of honorary doctor was awarded to the 2018 Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry, Sir Gregory Winter, who is a pioneer in the field of humanized and human therapeutic antibodies, which form the basis for developing therapies for various diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and cancer. The title of professor emeritus was awarded to Dr. Dušica Pahor, a medical doctor and full professor, for her achievements in the development of the Faculty of Medicine.
Awards, recognitions, and diplomas were also presented to distinguished students, individuals, and companies. Rector Zdravko Kačič spoke about the University's collaboration with the economy, which he says contributes to the faster transfer of theory into practice."
